04:47 AM EST, 01/14/2025 (MT Newswires) -- WeRide ( WRD ) said Tuesday it has been retained to provide the technology for an autonomous driving pilot project in Switzerland backed by the Canton of Zurich and the Swiss national railway company Swiss Transit Lab.

Financial terms were not disclosed.

Under the program, autonomous cars equipped with WeRide ( WRD ) technology will be tested to eventually shuttle passengers in Switzerland's Furttal Region, with eight vehicles in operation by 2026, the company said.
