WeRide, Uber Expand Robotaxi Service in Abu Dhabi
Jul 29, 2025 3:22 AM

05:48 AM EDT, 07/29/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Uber Technologies ( UBER ) and WeRide ( WRD ) said Tuesday they have expanded the operation of their Robotaxis in Abu Dhabi to Al Reem and Al Maryah Islands.

The expanded service, in partnership with the Integrated Transport Centre, now covers about half of Abu Dhabi's core areas, the companies said.

The companies also added that since launching in Abu Dhabi in December 2024, their Robotaxi fleet has tripled in size.

Both companies plan to continue growing the fleet to hundreds of Robotaxis and aim to extend services later this year into Khalifa City, Masdar City and more areas in downtown Abu Dhabi.
