Werner Enterprises Says Texas Supreme Court Reverses, Dismisses $90 Million Judgment Over Truck Accident
Jun 27, 2025 12:39 PM

03:04 PM EDT, 06/27/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Werner Enterprises ( WERN ) said Friday that the Texas Supreme Court ruled in the company's favor in reversing and dismissing a $90 million truck accident verdict from 2018.

The case was in regards to a 2014 accident in Texas, where a vehicle traveling in the opposite direction on a divided interstate highway lost control, crossed a median and hit a Werner tractor-trailer, the company said.

The transportation and logistics company said it claimed from the beginning that the accident was not preventable and that the driver had acted in an appropriate manner.

The company said that the Texas Supreme Court ruled that Werner and the driver were "a mere happenstance of place and time," and that the company and the driver "bore no responsibility."
