Westbridge Renewable Energy Shares Up 3% as It Declares a Special Dividend

12:33 PM EDT, 09/23/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Westbridge Renewable Energy ( WEGYF ) shares gained approximately 3% after the company declared a special dividend of $0.20 per share, doubling its prior distribution.

The dividend will be paid on Oct.17 to to shareholders of record as of Oct.3.

The dividend, which is subject to exchange approval, has doubled from the $0.10 distribution on June 21. The total amount of the distribution is $5.06 million, representing a non-recurring, one-time dividend. The company noted it should not be taken as an indication of regular future payouts.

"This dividend is a demonstration of Westbridge's confidence in its financial strength and its future pipeline. We believe in delivering returns to our shareholders without compromising our ability to grow. The Ontario projects are especially promising, and our U.S. data centre initiatives will enable us to participate in one of the most dynamic sectors out there-all while maintaining our clean energy leadership," said cheif executive Stefano Romanin.

Shares of Westbridge Renewable Energy ( WEGYF ) were last seen up $0.09 to $2.95 on the TSX Venture Exchange.
