08:15 AM EST, 12/11/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Western Alliance (WAL) said in a regulatory filing Tuesday that Chief Executive Kenneth A. Vecchione is taking a temporary medical leave of absence effective Dec. 16.

The company's board has appointed Chief Financial Officer Dale Gibbons as interim CEO, adding to his current responsibilities.

Vecchione said in a company letter that he plans to return in late Q1.
