07:03 AM EST, 01/20/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Western Forest Products ( WFSTF ) on Friday said its hourly employees represented by United Steelworkers Local 1-1937 voted to ratify a new six-year collective agreement providing for general wage increases.
Wages will increase 4% the first year of the agreement and 3% in each of the four years. In the sixth year, wages will be boosted 3% or the rate of inflation, whichever is greater.
The new agreement also includes enhancements to certain benefits and terms of mutual interest for the USW and the company. It will apply to roughly 1,000 members of Western's hourly workforce represented by the USW and third-party contractors who adopt Western's collective agreement.
The new agreement has a retroactive effective date of June 15, 2024, and will expire June 14, 2030. It replaces a collective agreement that expired on June 14, 2024.
