Western Forest Products Says Vancouver, Washington, Sawmill Inoperable Following Fire
Jun 30, 2025 2:43 PM

05:18 PM EDT, 06/30/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Western Forest Products ( WFSTF ) on Monday said a fire at its sawmill in Vancouver, Washington, sustained extensive damage in a fire and the mill is now inoperable.

The company said the mill is part of its Columbia Vista Division, which produced 53-million board feet of lumber last year.

"On behalf of Western, I want to extend my sincere gratitude to the firefighters and first responders who attended the fire at our site. While we are shocked by the damage to the mill, we feel incredibly fortunate that no employees or emergency personnel were injured. We are focused on supporting our team members and completing an incident investigation and assessment," chief executive Steven Hofer said.

The company's shares closed up $0.01 to $0.40 on the Toronto Stock Exchange.
