12:22 PM EDT, 07/09/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Westgate Energy (WGT.V) on Tuesday it plans a two-well summer drilling program at its Killam property in Alberta.

The company said the two horizontal wells will target the Mannville Sparky Formation.

"We are excited to initiate the two-well program and look forward to sharing its results in the coming weeks. This marks a significant step forward in our strategy to unlock the potential of our Killam assets using advanced drilling techniques," chief executive Dan Brown said in a release.

The company's shares were last seen up $0.015 to $0.245 on the TSX Venture Exchange.
