What's Going On With Firefly Neuroscience Stock Tuesday?
Jan 14, 2025 8:37 AM

Firefly Neuroscience, Inc. ( AIFF ) shares are trading higher on Tuesday after the company announced the advancement of research to assess a patient’s brain age.

The Details: Firefly announced that it can utilize its FDA-cleared Brain Network Analytics (BNA) technology to collect health data, including resting EEG and ERP data, to determine a patient’s brain age.

“To my knowledge, this marks the first instance where cognitive data measured by ERP has been successfully utilized by any technology platform for assessing biological brain age,” said Gil Issachar, Chief Technology Officer of Firefly.

“This innovative approach has the potential to illuminate various facets of human brain aging. BNA data assessment, for example, is capable of finding a significant disparity between brain age and chronological age, which could serve as a valuable risk factor for dementia. By being able to measure brain age with EEG, we are potentially paving the way for a proactive and scalable approach to early screening and monitoring for Alzheimer’s patients.”

Issachar presented this data to researchers and clinicians at the 2024 International Conference on Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s Diseases and Related Neurological Disorders.

Firefly shares are trading on higher-than-normal volume at 67.74 million shares. The company’s average session volume over the past 100 days is 303.91 thousand, per data from Benzinga Pro.
