General Motors Co. ( GM ) announced an offering of senior unsecured fixed-rate notes.

What To Know: GM plans to use the proceeds to refinance part of $1.25 billion in 6.125% senior notes maturing in October 2025 and to help fund a $1.8 billion term loan to Ultium Cells, its joint venture with LG Energy Solution.

The loan will be used to fully prepay existing debt from the U.S. Department of Energy’s Advanced Technology Vehicles Manufacturing program. The move was presented as part of GM's broader debt management and investment strategy in its EV supply chain.
