What's Going On With Intuitive Machines Stock Today?

Intuitive Machines Inc ( LUNR ) shares are trading higher. On Tuesday, the company announced that it delivered its second lunar mission lander.

What Happened: Intuitive Machines ( LUNR ) said it delivered its IM-2 mission lunar lander “Athena” to Cape Canaveral, Florida. The company also announced that its IM-2 lunar mission is targeted for launch during a four-day window opening no earlier than Feb. 26.

The IM-2 mission will be launched in coordination with SpaceX and commanded using Intuitive Machines’ commercial Lunar Data Network. IM-2 is the company’s second of four lunar missions under NASA’s Commercial Lunar Payload Services initiative. 

“Each lunar mission builds on the last, and Athena’s arrival in Florida demonstrates our dedication to delivering on the Company’s vision to providing a reliable cadence of lunar delivery services,” said Steve Altemus, CEO of Intuitive Machines ( LUNR ).

“This commitment to flying missions reinforces our broader efforts of developing a heavy cargo lander, establishing a lunar data relay satellite constellation, and providing sustainable infrastructure services at the Moon to enable further exploration of the solar system.”

Intuitive Machines ( LUNR ) made history last year when its moon lander “Odysseus” landed on the moon’s surface. The mission marked the first time the U.S. had been on the moon since 1972.

LUNR Price Action: Intuitive Machines ( LUNR ) shares were up 4.02% at $22.06 at the time of publication Tuesday, according to Benzinga Pro.
