What's Going On With SoundHound AI (SOUN) Stock?
May 26, 2025 2:06 AM

Shares of SoundHound AI Inc ( SOUN ) fell 2.26% to $8.98 on Tuesday, as investors digested a broader AI-related tech pullback triggered by Palantir Technologies Inc’s first-quarter earnings report.

What To Know: Palantir stock plunged 12.7% to $108.03, despite beating top-line estimates and raising full-year guidance. The sharp drop in Palantir shares weighed on other AI-related names, including SoundHound, ahead of its own earnings release.

SoundHound AI ( SOUN ), a voice artificial intelligence company that provides speech recognition and natural language processing solutions across automotive, hospitality and enterprise sectors, is set to report quarterly results Thursday after the market close. Analysts expect the company to post a loss of 9 cents per share on revenue of $30.38 million.

While SoundHound is not directly comparable to Palantir, the negative sentiment around high-growth AI firms with ongoing losses appears to be spreading.

Additionally, Palantir's results, while strong, highlighted how elevated expectations can trigger sharp pullbacks even when performance meets or exceeds estimates.

With SoundHound still in its growth phase and not yet profitable, investors appear cautious ahead of its report, prompting a decline as part of broader AI-sector volatility.

How To Buy SOUN Stock

Besides going to a brokerage platform to purchase a share – or fractional share – of stock, you can also gain access to shares either by buying an exchange traded fund (ETF) that holds the stock itself, or by allocating yourself to a strategy in your 401(k) that would seek to acquire shares in a mutual fund or other instrument.

For example, in SoundHound AI’s case, it is in the Information Technology sector. An ETF will likely hold shares in many liquid and large companies that help track that sector, allowing an investor to gain exposure to the trends within that segment.

According to data from Benzinga Pro, SOUN has a 52-week high of $24.98 and a 52-week low of $3.82.
