White House: Carney called Trump Sunday night about digital tax

WASHINGTON, June 30 (Reuters) - Canadian Prime Minister

Mark Carney called U.S. President Donald Trump on Sunday night

to inform him that Canada would not target U.S. technology

companies with a digital services tax on the United States, the

White House said on Monday.

Press secretary Karoline Leavitt said Carney had "caved" on

the issue after Trump cut off trade negotiations with Canada.
