WASHINGTON, Sept 13 (Reuters) - The White House said

Friday it was in contact with Boeing ( BA ) and the

International Association of Machinists representing 30,000

striking U.S. West Coast factory workers and hopes they can

reach a contract deal.

"We encourage them to negotiate in good faith - toward an

agreement that gives employees the benefits they deserve and

makes the company stronger," White House Robyn Patterson said.
