03:22 AM EST, 03/08/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Whitestone REIT ( WSR ) said late Thursday its board has rejected shareholder Erez Asset Management's nomination for two candidates to be elected on the company's board.

Erez Asset Management nominated Bruce Schanzer and Catherine Clark to stand for election at Whitestone's annual shareholders meeting this year.

The company said it conducted a comprehensive review and evaluation of both candidates and neither of them "displayed more than a cursory understanding" of the firm's portfolio, its markets, or its business strategy.
