JetBlue Airways Corporation ( JBLU ) shares are trading lower Monday after the company announced a $400 million convertible senior notes offering.

The Details:

JetBlue ( JBLU ) said it also expects to grant the initial purchasers of the notes an option to purchase up to an additional $60 million aggregate principal amount of the notes. The company said it intends to use the net proceeds from the offering to repurchase a portion of their existing 0.50% senior convertible notes due 2026 with any remaining net proceeds to be used for general corporate purposes.

JetBlue ( JBLU ) shares spiked at the end of July following the company's second-quarter earnings release which beat analyst expectations on the top and bottom lines.
