09:54 AM EST, 01/27/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Williams Companies ( WMB ) said Monday that the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission has reinstated the certificate and abandonment authorization to Transco for the Regional Energy Access Expansion project.

The order reinstates the certificate for Regional Energy Access Expansion as issued under its original certificate order, the company added.

The order is effective immediately upon the issuance of the mandate by the DC Circuit Court of Appeals, Williams said.

The REA project will provide gas supplies to New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, and Maryland, with the capacity to serve about 4.4 million homes annually, the company said.

Williams' shares were down by nearly 8% in recent trading.
