10:13 AM EDT, 03/22/2024 (MT Newswires) -- WisdomTree ( WT ) said Friday that the New York State Department of Financial Services has granted it a charter to operate as a limited purpose trust company.

With the charter, WisdomTree ( WT ) said it will launch WisdomTree Prime in New York.

The charter allows the company to offer digital wallet services, issue and exchange stablecoins approved by the DFS, and manage stablecoin reserves under WisdomTree Digital Trust.

WisdomTree Digital is a newly created entity that will initially provide products to customers as part of the WisdomTree Prime ecosystem, the company said.
