Godrej Consumer Products (GCPL) in Q3 saw a 7 percent growth in the household insecticides segment. Nisaba Godrej, Chairperson and MD of the company said that there has been good growth rural demand for household insecticides.

"In household insecticides, our growth especially in India was quite steady at 7 percent and sequentially better than Q2. However, it is still below our expectations. The good news is that health is playing out; we have seen 600 basis points of penetration growth for the category this year and 800 basis points in rural. So demand for these products is definitely there," Godrej told CNBC-TV18.

She added that Indonesia is a good high margin market like India. However, it is still severely impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

"Indonesia is a great business. It is very much like our India business – high margin. It has been one our best acquisitions to date. If I give a comparison, FMCG in India grew about 5 percent in Q3, while in Indonesia it de-grew 9 percent. So the COVID impact has been delayed and spread out. They

Speaking about FMCG as a sector, she said that it was facing challenges compared to pre-COVID, but she expects demand to pick up going ahead.

"We had a good strong Union Budget. FMCG as a whole was facing headwinds pre-COVID and I hope as an industry there will be more demand given some of the vaccinations rolling out, good Budget. So I hope to see growth happen and we will definitely prioritise growth," she added.

Emission reductions and removals are converted into tradable assets through a carbon market. This implies that an industrial unit that surpasses the emission criteria is eligible to receive credits. Additionally, it would give struggling units the opportunity to purchase credits and demonstrate compliance. In simpler terms, a carbon market will create incentives to reduce emissions or improve energy efficiency.
