As bike taxis became a popular way to combat congested traffic roads, women passengers largely remained left out of this change due to safety concerns in riding with male bike riders.

Rydeo, an Orissa-based two-wheeler cab service, is looking to solve that problem by signing up female captains on its platform, ensuring that female passengers only get matched with female drivers. Alisha Sachdev spoke to Trupti Ranjan Das, chairman of HLW Cabs.
