Sept 17 (Reuters) - Woodside Energy ( WDS ) expects to
close its acquisition of liquefied natural gas (LNG) project
developer Tellurian Inc. ( TELL ) in October, Woodside Chief Executive
Meg O'Neill said at the GasTech conference on Tuesday.
Woodside could not pass up the chance to purchase U.S.
company Tellurian because it enabled the Australian
outfit to have the scale it needed in the LNG business, O'Neill
said.
Woodside wants to complete construction and start exporting
LNG from Tellurian's Driftwood project by 2028, O'Neill said.
A second site next to Driftwood could be used for blue
ammonia, O'Neill added.
