06:24 AM EST, 11/19/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Workday (WDAY) said Wednesday it launched an EU sovereign cloud for its HR and finance platform and agreed to partner with Alphabet-owned Google's ( GOOG ) Cloud BigQuery platform.
The Workday EU sovereign cloud keeps customer data and AI processing inside European Union data centers operated by EU-based staff, using Amazon Web Services infrastructure to meet regional security requirements, the company said.
The service runs across multiple EU locations with hardware protections, encryption, and oversight from an EU advisory board to help keep payroll, HR, finance, and planning systems available and compliant, Workday said.
Separately, Workday also said its data cloud will connect directly to Google ( GOOG ) services such as BigQuery and BigLake so customers can analyze HR and finance data without copying it and build models like cash flow forecasts.
Insights generated in Google Cloud, including AI-driven predictions such as customer churn risk, can be sent back into Workday to guide decisions alongside data from other partners such as Databricks, Salesforce, and Snowflake, it said.
Shares of the company were up by over 1.4% in recent Wednesday premarket activity.
