11:23 AM EST, 01/08/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Workers at a Ford Motor ( F ) joint-venture battery plant in Kentucky have petitioned the National Labor Relations Board to hold an election on unionizing, the United Auto Workers union said Wednesday.

The petitioners at BlueOval SK plant, Ford's joint venture with SK On, are looking to join the UAW, the union said.

The UAW also said that BlueOval SK workers are being prevented from organizing, accusing Ford of engaging anti-union consultants.

Ford did not immediately reply to MT Newswires' request for comment.

F shares were 0.9% lower in recent trading.
