Worthington Steel Fiscal Q1 Adjusted EPS, Net Sales Decrease; Shares Fall After Hours

04:42 PM EDT, 09/25/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Worthington Steel ( WS ) reported fiscal Q1 adjusted earnings Wednesday of $0.56 per diluted share, down from $1.26 a year earlier.

Two analysts polled by Capital IQ expected $0.55.

Net sales in the three months ended Aug. 31 fell to $834 million from $905.8 million a year earlier.

Two analysts surveyed by Capital IQ expected $748.4 million.

The company declared a quarterly dividend of $0.16 a share, payable Dec. 27 to shareholders of record Dec. 13.

Shares of the company fell 5.1% in recent after-hours trading.
