05:08 PM EDT, 04/11/2024 (MT Newswires) -- W&T Offshore ( WTI ) said late Thursday its board voted to expand to six members and appointed John Buchanan to fill a vacancy effective April 8.

Buchanan most recently was at ExxonMobil (XOM) as an assistant general counsel. He will stand for election at the W&T annual meeting of shareholders.

The company said five board members are deemed independent directors.
