W&T Offshore Says Court Rules Against $100 Million Collateral Demand by Surety Companies

07:41 AM EDT, 06/30/2025 (MT Newswires) -- W&T Offshore ( WTI ) said Monday that US Magistrate Judge Dena Palermo recommended denying motions by two surety companies for a preliminary injunction asking the company to post collateral of more than $100 million.

The court found that the surety companies failed to demonstrate they would suffer irreparable harm if their cash collateral demands were not granted, the company said.

W&T Offshore ( WTI ) said it will not be required to post collateral until a determination on the merits of the pending lawsuit with the remaining surety providers;.

W&T shares were 2.3% higher in premarket trading.
