Chinese smartphone giant Xiaomi has revealed that it is all set to launch its Redmi K40 series in China next month. Priced approximately Rs 34,000 for the base variant, the smartphone will come with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 888 chipset and will be a successor to the Redmi K30 series that was launched last year.
While other details are not yet available, Redmi General Manager Lu Weibing, who took to Chinese micro-blogging site Weibo to announce the proposed launch, hinted that the K40 may come with an AMOLED display, but without a curved design.
Earlier, reports based on leaks claimed that in addition to the base variant, the device will also come with an advanced K40 Pro variant
It is expected that the Pro variant will come with a quad-camera set-up in the rear for capturing images. In addition, unlike the Redmi K30 Pro variant, the new device might feature a hole-punch design for the selfie camera rather than the pop-up selfie camera set-up.
