01:49 PM EDT, 06/23/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Zillow Group ( ZG ) (Z, ZG) has been sued by real estate brokerage Compass (COMP) for allegedly violating antitrust laws by using "anticompetitive tactics to protect its monopoly and revenues," according to a lawsuit filed Monday in the US District Court for the Southern District of New York.
Compass alleges that Zillow ( ZG ) retaliated against competitive threats, such as Compass' own search platform, by banning home listings that have been marketed outside its platform for more than one day.
The lawsuit also accuses Zillow ( ZG ) of conspiring with rival brokerages Redfin (RDFN) and eXp World Holdings' ( EXPI ) realty unit to apply the ban, though neither firm was named as a defendant.
Zillow ( ZG ) said that the lawsuit's claims were "unfounded" and that it would defend against them, Bloomberg reported.
"The recent legal filing contains claims that are without merit as they relate to eXp," Chief Executive Officer Leo Pareja said in a statement, according to Bloomberg.
Redfin declined to comment, Bloomberg reported.
Zillow ( ZG ) didn't immediately reply to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
Zillow ( ZG ) shares rose 1% in recent trading Monday, Compass rose 1.4%, Redfin gained 1.2% and eXp advanced 0.4%.
