Amazon founder and CEO Jeff Bezos is in India and will be meeting top corporates and small business heads. Though traders across the country are protesting against practices followed by e-commerce firms, Amazon ‘Smbhav’ event in Delhi saw a very long queue for registration.

Bezos said that the US-based online retail giant will use its global footprint to export $10 billion worth of ‘Make-In-India’ goods across the world by 2025. “25 years ago Amazon was an SMB. Today we are announcing that we are going to invest $1 billion in digitising SMBs,” said Bezos at the event.

He also made some announcements that Amazon will look at investing about $1 billion in digitising MSMBs and this is going to be done by 2025.

Amit Agarwal, country head of Amazon India, also participated in the chat. Bezos went on to say that SMBs have been working very well in India and it is time to double down on them. He also called the 21st century the time for the Indian market and how the country will dominate the economy.
