Anjelina Jolie joins TIME magazine as contributing editor

Top Hollywood actress, filmmaker, humanitarian and UN High Commissioner for Refugees Angelina Jolie has joined TIME magazine as a contributing editor.

She will be focusing on topics like displacement, conflict and human rights and her content will appear monthly across the magazine’s global platforms.

"Jolie’s writing for TIME will draw on her eighteen years working with the UN Refugee Agency. She is the Special Envoy of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, and has carried out over 60 field missions to refugees, including most recently in Colombia, Peru and Bangladesh," the publication said in a statement.

She has written her first piece today, titled 'What we owe refugees' which coincides with World Refugee Day and it will appear in the July issue of the magazine.

Her previous essay for the magazine was on the role of women in the peace negotiations in Afghanistan.
