April Kansas City Fed Manufacturing Index Falls, Still Indicated Expansion

11:08 AM EDT, 04/23/2026 (MT Newswires) -- The Kansas City Fed monthly manufacturing index decreased to a reading of 10 in April from 11 in March as expected in a survey compiled by Bloomberg.

The decrease follows increases in readings for the other regional manufacturing data released so far. The ISM's national manufacturing reading will be released on May 1.

Within the Kansas City data, there were decreases in the reading for production, employment, shipments and new orders, while the prices paid reading surged.
