At 11 a.m. on the 11th day of the 11th month of 2018, dozens of world leaders gathered in Paris to mark 100 years since the armistice that ended World War I entered into force, and to celebrate peace. They represent countries that stood on opposite sides of the 1918 front line. As the French and American presidents joined the German chancellor, Sunday's ceremonies highlighted the reconciliation that has been achieved since those dark days of brutal fighting. Here are few of the stories that The Associated Press published on Nov. 11, 1918, from Washington and from reporters embedded with American soldiers in France.
