Auto sector PLI: Large exporters like Bajaj, TVS, Bharat Forge may gain
Dec 9, 2020 6:40 AM

There is no clarity from the government on who the beneficiaries of the auto PLI scheme could be, what are the incentives that the auto players will get, and do they have to put up new facilities to avail of this PLI scheme, or can they do it with their existing facilities. So there is very little clarity on what the PLI scheme will entail for these companies.

Nevertheless, Morgan Stanley has put out a note saying that the planned PLI scheme will offer export incentives to large exporters and this will support company’s earnings and improve the industry utilisation.

Just going by the companies that have the highest export exposure Bajaj Auto, TVS Motor & Bharat Forge could be the big beneficiaries.

Bajaj Auto, TVS Motor & Bharat Forge may see FY22 EBITDA increasing by 5-7 percent on the PLI.

CNBC-TV18’s Sonia Shenoy gives more details.
