In a first, Bala Devi has signed an 18-month contract with Scottish club, Rangers FC. The deal is subject to 'international clearance'.

She has become the first Indian women to play professional football outside the country. Devi is also Rangers FC’s first Asian international football player.

She currently tops the chart of Indian national women's team. Devi has served as the national team captain in a distinguished international career. She holds the record of scoring over 100 goals in 120 games at the domestic level.

Devi is also the top scorer in the Indian Women's League for the past two seasons. All India Football Federation named her women's player of the year for 2015 and 2016.
