Boeing & Airbus set the tone at Aero India 2019 by announcing massive plans in commercial space
Feb 23, 2019 8:07 AM

Over the last few days top aircraft manufacturers from across the world have lined up at the Yelahanka air force base in Bengaluru and the two big names in aviation – Boeing and Airbus – both of whom set the tone for the summit by announcing massive plans in the commercial space.

Jude Sannith caught up with Dinesh Keskar, senior VP-Sales, APAC & India at Boeing and Anand Stanley, President & MD of Airbus India to get the lowdown on these plans.

Keskar said the company is delighted with the Indian market and has solid orderbook for the next four to five years. “We have already sold over 225 Max to Jet Airways, about 155 Max to SpiceJet with additional options and then recently six 787 Dreamliners to Vistara with four purchase rights," he said.

“As far as we are concerned, we are fulfilling our agreement with the leasing companies with the airlines in India without any delay,” he added.

Stanley said that we are humbled and honoured that Indigo has been working with Airbus all these years and we have a strong backlog with Indigo right now.
