Ashok Wadhwa, Group CEO of Ambit Capital, said that finance minister setting a vision of having no interface between the taxpayer and the tax collector was a good step.
"The finance minister has outlined a good vision. Remember, he said that three years from now there will be no interface between the taxpayer and the tax collector. Now that is a big step forward,” he said.
“We do know that a part of India’s bad reputation on tax terrorism comes out of that physical intervention. So he has a good vision laid out. If he can implement that vision, I think it is a fantastic step forward,” he added.
Talking about market's expectation from the Budget and whether the market was satisfied or not, he said, “Market wanted to see some sort of a stimulus to support consumption and it may have been done from a populist perspective, but it certainly has delivered what market expected."
