Business-to-business relations will be the beneficiary of 2+2 dialogue, said Banmali Agrawala, president, infrastructure and defence & aerospace, Tata Sons on Wednesday.

Secretary of state Mike Pompeo and defence decretary Jim Mattis from the US will be holding the first 2+2 dialogue with union defence minister Nirmala Sitharaman and union external affairs minister Sushma Swaraj on Thursday at New Delhi.

"One of the important fallout is going to be the impact on business-to-business relationships between India and US, particularly in the area of defence. I do believe that it's the business-to-business dimension, from a commerce standpoint of view, which is really going to be the beneficiary of the 2+2 dialogue," Agrawala said.

"When you talk about defence, you have to take long term approach. We have been at this now, particularly in the field of aerospace for the last almost 10 years," Agrawala added.
