Central government employees donate one day's salary to PM Cares Fund

Central government employees have decided to donate one day's salary to the PM Cares Fund for COVID relief work, sources told CNBC-TV18. Appeals were made by all staff associations seeking support from their members.

Sources said the amount contributed by government departments through salary and CSR is above Rs 3900 crore.

Individual officers made additional contributions as well, sources said.
