02:54 PM EDT, 03/11/2024 (MT Newswires) -- State-level data from the BLS showed that the unemployment rate rose in four states in January, fell in two states and held steady elsewhere.
The largest gains were in Connecticut, Rhode Island, and Washington. North Dakota had the lowest jobless rate in January while Nevada again had the highest.
Payrolls rose in eight states, with New York and California posting the largest increases in absolute terms and New York also seeing the biggest percentage gain.
The New York Federal Reserve's inflation expectations report showed no change in the outlook for the one-year horizon, but upward adjustments to the three-year and five-year horizons.
