Daily Roundup of Key US Economic Data for March 24
Mar 24, 2026 12:07 PM

02:31 PM EDT, 03/24/2026 (MT Newswires) -- The flash manufacturing reading from S&P Global rose to 52.4 in March from 51.6 in February after regional data from the New York and Philadelphia Federal Reserve banks were mixed.

The ISM's national manufacturing reading will be released on April 1.

Released at the same time, the flash services reading from S&P Global fell to 51.1 in March from 51.7 in February, an 11-month low that suggests only modest expansion. The ISM's services reading is scheduled for release on April 3.

The Richmond Fed's manufacturing index rose to 0 in March from minus 10 in February.

At same time, the Richmond Federal Reserve's services reading rose to 9 in March from minus 8 in February, while the Philadelphia Fed's measure fell to minus 23.9 from minus 17.3.

The revised estimate of Q4 productivity showed a 1.8% gain compared with a 2.8% gain in the preliminary estimate, reflecting slower output growth and a small unrevised decline in hours worked.

Unit labor costs rose by 4.4%, revised up from a 2.8% gain in the preliminary estimate, reflecting the slowdown in productivity growth and an upward revision in compensation growth.

Redbook reported that US same-store retail sales were up 6.7% year-over-year in the week ended March 21, faster than a 6.4% gain in the prior week due to a boost from spring-related items.
