Empowered committee to meet soon; will consider mobile manufacturers demand to rollover production targets

The mobile manufacturing companies are not confident of being able to meet the production targets as had been laid down under the production-linked incentive (PLI) scheme.

The scheme kicks in, in this financial year and companies have cited supply side constraints in terms of operationalising the new facilities and have said that they need to roll over the production targets.

According to sources, the empowered committee which includes Niti Aayog CEO, MEITY Secretary, Revenue Secretary, Expenditure Secretary, and DGFT will meet shortly to consider demand from mobile manufacturing industry to rollover production targets under the PLI scheme.
