Finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman had proposed in her July 5 Budget speech to form a high-level committee on the infrastructure. Basically, the government is trying to identify workable infrastructure projects, Greenfield as well as Brownfield, which have to be of a minimum size of Rs 100 crore. Here is what the structure of this task force will be.

This task force is going to be headed by the Secretary DEA, Atanu Chakraborty.

* Among the other important members, CEO of NITI Aayog or his nominee will participate.

* Secretary expenditure department at the minister of finance Girish Chandra Murmu or his nominee will participate.

* There will be other representations from the administrative ministry and also further the representation from the finance ministry.

* It is going to be an annual pipeline and the government expects a report on the projects for FY20 to be out by October 31.

* The government is also expected to release a report on five-year project pipeline (FY21 to FY25) by December 31.

* National Investment and Infrastructure Fund (NIIF) will also play an important role in trying to market these identified infra projects.
