The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall this week in several parts of the country.

DS Pai, director of IMD, said, "In next 2-3 days, there will be rainfall activity along the west coast from south Gujarat to coastal Karnataka with isolated heavy to very heavy rainfalls."

Heavy rains lashed Mumbai on Tuesday, leading to chaos in the city with submerged roads and slow traffic movement.
