Here's CNBC-TV18's Latha Venkatesh's take on macro numbers ahead of Budget 2019
Feb 1, 2019 12:06 AM

What are the big macro numbers one has to keep in mind ahead of the interim Budget 2019? Latha Venkatesh of CNBC-TV18 explains.

Fiscal deficit number remains a crucial number — government's target is 3.3 percent. If the numbers is less than 3.3 percent, the market will give it a thumbs up.

Bond markets are worried about how much the government will borrow because it is the remaining terrain that is left for private sector. If the government occupies too much of a terrain then the cost of money rises. So Rs 6.25 to 6.5 lakh crore gross market borrowing programme of the government will go well with the market.

The rate of growth of taxes and the rate of growth of expenditure will be the big numbers to watch out for.
