Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan on Tuesday said he is willing to offer all the possible help in investigating the recent Pulwama attack in India's Jammu and Kashmir region, which killed more than 40 CRPF officers.
He said he heard Indian politicians talking about punishing Pakistan, but "War is not the solution." He, however, said that Pakistan will retaliate if India takes any military action on Pakistan's land.
"India has blamed Pakistan without any evidence, without considering if there are any benefits to Pakistan from this attack," Khan said, asserting that Pakistan is against terrorism.
Khan said that If India has any actionable intelligence, Pakistan can help investigate the matter.
"If the Indian government wants to stay with the past, how will the talks go on?" he said, adding that these issues should be resolved by dialogue.
Khan said that he wanted to respond on the same day of the attack but due to the planned visit of Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince Mohammad Bin Salman Al Saud and the investment conference, the statement was delayed.
Pakistan has also sought the United Nation's urgent intervention to "defuse tensions" with India, the Foreign Office said on Tuesday.
In the worst ever terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir since militancy erupted in 1989, a suicide bomber on Thursday rammed his SUV packed with explosives into a CRPF bus on the Srinagar-Jammu highway in Pulwama district, killing at least 44 troopers and leaving the security established stunned.
After the attack on CRPF officers by the Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorists on Thursday, February 14, in Pulwama in Jammu and Kashmir, the government has withdrawn the 'most favoured nation' status to Pakistan under the World Trade Organisation rules, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said after the cabinet committee on security meeting concluded.
Modi assured the nation that all involved in the Pulwama attack that killed 44 CRPF jawans will be punished, adding that Pakistan has made a huge mistake and will have to pay.
Earlier today, Lieutenant General Kanwal Jeet Singh Dhillon, while addressing media, said that the army eliminated Jaish-e-Mohammed leadership in Kashmir in less than 100 hours after the Pulwama attack.
