Japan's Uzabase buys Quartz from Atlantic Media

Japanese media company Uzabase Inc is buying business news site Quartz from Atlantic Media in a deal valued at between $75 million and $110 million, the company said on Monday.

The value of the deal will depend on Quartz reaching financial targets, Uzabase said in a statement.

Uzabase owns the popular Japanese news aggregator Newspicks, which picks up the day’s top stories and allows users including top CEOs to comment. Quartz will in future run the English-language Newspicks site, Uzabase said.
