July Chicago Fed National Activity Index Declines, Below Expectations

08:34 AM EDT, 08/25/2025 (MT Newswires) -- The Chicago Federal Reserve Bank's monthly National Activity Index fell to a reading of minus 0.19 in July from minus 0.18 in June, below a reading of minus 0.11 expected in a survey compiled by Bloomberg as of 7:30 am ET.

The three-month moving average rose to minus 0.18 from minus 0.26.

Of the 85 individual indicators, 32 made positive contributions to the index in July, while 53 made negative contributions. Some 42 indicators improved in the month, while 41 indicators deteriorated and two were unchanged.
