July S&P Global US Flash Manufacturing Measure Indicates Contraction, Services Measures Suggests Expansion
Jul 25, 2025 11:12 PM

09:56 AM EDT, 07/24/2025 (MT Newswires) -- The July flash reading of manufacturing conditions from S&P Global fell to a seven-month low reading of 49.5 from 52.9 in June, compared with a smaller decrease to 52.7 expected in a survey compiled by Bloomberg as of 7:45 am ET.

The index indicates contraction in the sector which is in line with the Richmond Fed measure but in contrast with the New York Federal Reserve and Philadelphia Fed readings released earlier that suggested expansion.

The index for services conditions rose to a seven-month high reading of 55.2 in July from 52.9 in June, compared with expectations for a smaller gain to 53.0. The services index indicates expansion, which is in line with the Richmond Fed measure but in contrast with the New York Fed and the Philadelphia Fed readings released earlier that suggested contraction.
