June Chicago Fed National Activity Index Rises Less Than Expected

08:38 AM EDT, 07/23/2026 (MT Newswires) -- The Chicago Federal Reserve Bank's monthly National Activity Index rose to a reading of minus 0.02 in June from minus 0.19 in May, compared with expectations for a larger gain to a 0.0 reading in survey of analysts compiled by Bloomberg as of 7:40 am ET.

The three-month moving average increased to minus 0.05 from minus 0.10.

Of the 85 individual indicators, 40 made positive contributions to the index in June, while 45 made negative contributions. Some 47 indicators improved in the month, while 37 indicators worsened, and one was unchanged.
