Maharashtra Industries Minister Subhash Desai discussed how the state government is planning to restart manufacturing in some parts of the state from April 20.
Here's what he told CNBC-TV18:
“In Maharashtra, there are certain hotspots, some containment zones and red zones where the number of positive cases are growing. Around 12 municipal corporations like Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Panvel, Kalyan, Thane, Mira-Bhayandar, Nagpur and Aurangabad are under total lockdown. Here we cannot allow any industrial activities to restart.”
Desai added that in other areas where the spread is contained and we don’t see growth in the positive cases -- mainly rural districts -- here is where industrial activity can restart. "But at the same time we have to take utmost care and precaution so that there won’t be any spread ,” he stressed.
